Country Innovations Rover Jacket - ideal for birding?
The Rover jacket was originally developed by CI boffins almost 20 years ago. Admired by many country enthusiasts for its robustness, the weatherproof Rover Jacket actually just gets better with age, remaining soft and functional without the need for any re-proofing, unlike many manmade jackets.
Made from double layer Ventile®, a 100% cotton fabric, Ventile® has the unique ability to repel wind and rain, yet at the same time keep the wearer comfortable due to its high breathability. In fact, the fabric was originally developed from a top-ranking brief to keep fighter pilots warm and dry during World War II while out at sea - but still remain comfortable in the cockpit.
Ideal for birders, it features an articulated arm which allows you to raise your binoculars without a whiff of restriction, providing complete freedom of movement. Along with many other features (full list below), it's soft, has a detachable hood with wired peak and drawcord to pull in tight to the face, eight pockets (yes, 8!) and won't annoy too many fellow birders or indeed the wildlife as its rustle-proof. For all the fashion-conscious out there, It’s also smart enough to wear at the pub while enjoying a pint of real ale in the beer garden (weather permitting).

The Rover and Lady Rover Jacket both have a RRP of £325 (S, M, L, XL) and £335 (XXL) and are out now.
