Leica Sport Optics has introduced two new premium spotting scope systems, designed to offer exceptional optical performance for birdwatchers, nature observers and digiscoping photographers.
The new models combine outstanding image quality with advanced accessories to support fieldwork and wildlife photography.
The two main systems in the release are the Leica APO-Televid and the Leica Televid HD. The APO-Televid delivers superb resolution and virtually eliminates colour fringing, making it ideal for identifying fine plumage details. The Televid HD offers class-leading brightness, which is particularly useful for observation in early morning or evening light.
Each system is available in two sizes: a compact 65 mm version and a more light-intensive 82 mm version. Both are offered with angled viewing for comfortable long-term use. Leica’s newly developed High Lux Pro (HLP™) lens system provides bright, colour-neutral images with excellent low-light performance. A dual-focus mechanism enables both fine and rapid adjustment, allowing users to achieve sharp focus with precision.
Built for the Field and the Camera
Recognising the growing interest in digiscoping, Leica has launched a complete set of accessories to enable users to capture high-quality stills and video through the scopes. These include:
- The Leica Q adaptor, specifically designed for full-frame Leica Q cameras
- A new 35 mm digiscoping lens that works with Leica SL, M and other system cameras via a T2 adaptor
- The Ollin smartphone adaptor, which uses magnetic attachment for fast and secure mounting
- The Leica FOTOS app, which allows users to edit and share images instantly from their smartphones
Whether used by birders, ecologists or wildlife photographers, the new system transforms field observations into shareable, high-resolution content.
Complete System for Outdoor Viewing
Users can choose between two Vario eyepieces: the 25x–50x WW ASPH., which offers an ultra-wide field of view, and the 20x–60x, for increased magnification. For those needing even greater reach, a 1.8x extender is available.
To ensure stability in the field, Leica offers a carbon-fibre Leofoto tripod with a fluid video head for smooth panning and steady viewing. A durable Cordura ever-ready case with magnetic closures is also available, providing protection and quick access in outdoor conditions.
Pricing and Availability
The new Leica spotting scopes and accessories will be available from 10 July 2025 through Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and authorised retailers.
Prices start at £1,900 (including VAT) for the Leica Televid HD 65 kit with the 20x–60x Vario eyepiece.
