SWAROVSKI OPTIK have increased its NL Pure range of binoculars with the addition of the NL Pure 32 - the most compact binoculars in the NL Pure series. The 8x32 model comes with a field of view of 150m (or a 164 yds) and they are largely aimed at those who travel and birdwatch with equal enthusiasm. However, I recently took a closer look at what makes these compact binoculars the real deal when it comes to everyday birding use...
So, simply put - the NL Pure 32 are a smaller, lighter and less expensive version of the NL Pure 42 binoculars that Stuart field tested with impressive results by Stuart. Available as a 10x and 8x product, it is perhaps the 8x32 version which is ideal for keen birders and outdoor enthusiasts looking for an 'all-rounder' that packs an optical punch in everyday use wherever you may find yourself.
The NL Pure 32 features the same superb optical system as its big brother, the NL Pure 42, but within an extremely compact, precise mechanism, and armouring. Perhaps the most noticeable difference apart from the objective lens size is an eye-catching
new colour. In addition to the traditional green, the NL 32's will also be available in a trendy new Burnt Orange which is very pleasing on the eye and different to the standard colours available on most optics today.
Just like the NL Pure 42, one look through the 32-mm version reveals the technical ability that lies within. Thanks to the huge, revolutionary field of view (up to 69°) and the barely perceptible edges, you are completely immersed in the image, making it the most natural form of observation and perhaps touching on peak optical performance from technology that is available to mere mortals today.
The compact optics are encased in a uniquely ergonomic housing, which ensures that the NL Pure 32 fits perfectly into your hand. With an oval recess between the thumb and index finger, the shape of the binoculars conforms to your natural grip. The forehead rest provides unbeatable comfort during prolonged use and ensures steady viewing.
The accessories were a particular focus when developing the NL Pure range - which we liked a lot. The field bag is made of 100% recycled polyester (rPET). A soap & brush kit for cleaning the housing is supplied as standard. It contains a wooden brush and a palm oil-free, biodegradable soap made from coconut oil, olive oil, and shea butter with no colorants or fragrances. The soap is made in Tyrol, Austria and the brush comes from Germany. The product packaging is climate-neutral and is made of sustainable and recyclable materials.
